Registration is OPEN!

If you have any questions, please contact us at havingfun@nimblefingers.ca or by telephone at 1-877-321-3494. If you don't catch us, we'll call you back as soon as we can during regular hours.  We'll also be able to help you register over the phone if that's what works best for you.

A few more details about registration:

Generally, the registration part is pretty straightforward. Personal info first, then Week 1 Workshop and Accomodations, Festival Tickets and Weekend Accomodations, then on to the Week 2 Workshops and Accomodations. Once the group or family 'administrator' has registered a spot, click on 'add a group member' to add another profile to your account, or just move on to the payment page and you'll be prompted for your payment details.

Festival weekend camping spots and lodge rooms are now a two night minimum- we just had too many comings and goings on the Festival Weekend. You'll need to purchase Festival tickets before you are able to purchase weekend accommodations.

One important thing to note with this system though, is that unlike a 'ticketmaster' type of system where when you have chosen your ticket, it is essentially 'yours' and you have 3 minutes to pay for it or they feed that ticket back into the system, ours is a bit different. You will see the choices available for rooms, and you should check on the one you want, but until you press the 'submit' button at the end of the first page, it's just a request, and others online may be requesting the same room at the same time. If you don't get the room you requested when you press submit, just go back and look for what else might be available. The same goes for the Workshops and their availability. Once you have made it to the payment page happy with what you have chosen, you can take a few minutes to pay knowing your reservation is secure. There is also a spot on the form to submit a request for 2nd choice Workshops and Accommodations.

Full payment is now required to secure a spot. A full refund minus a $125 non-refundable deposit is available up to and including Aug 1st, should your plans shift. We're trying to keep it as streamlined and as simple a process for everyone.

We're more than happy to help out 1-877-321-3494  if you have an questions.

Thanks, NimbleFingers HQ

Some FAQ’s about registration

Can I invite famliy or friends to come and visit onsite or take in a concert? Sorry, drop-in's and unregistered friends and family members will not be permitted at the workshop site without prior approval. They are most welcome to come to the Festival on Saturday though!

I've never played an instrument before. Can I come? Our beginning classes assume a basic knowledge of your instrument, so arriving on the first day not knowing which end is up isn't a good thing.  But that said, if you're really keen, go ahead and sign up. As soon as you press 'submit', go get out your instrument and start practicing.  Take a few lessons if you can; you'll get much more out of the camp experience.

Can children come? Yes – but there is no separate program for children. Although we do welcome young players and every year there a handful and sometimes more, we don’t have the systems in place for children not ready to fully function in an adult-based class.  If your child is familiar with their instrument and keen on learning in a multi-age workshop setting, we’d love to have them. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or authorized adult. Please touch base with us if you're thinking of bringing a student under 14.

Can we register as a group? Yes.

Can I bring my dog? Pets are now allowed at Sorrento Centre, so just let us know and you can bring your pooch. Or your kitty. Or your fish. It’s a daily rate of $10 per pet with a limit of two pets per site/room. Pets are allowed everywhere on site with the exception of the lodge rooms. Here's a copy of their pet policy you will be asked to sign at check-in. [Download PDF]

What is the cancellation policy? Cancellations prior to and including August 1st will recieve a full refund minus a $125 non-refundable deposit.  Cancellations after August 1st, 2013 will not be eligible for a refund for any reason.  We will of course consider medical emergencies. The exception is the unlikely event that we cancel the workshop you’ve enrolled in (this very occasionally happens due to low enrollment), in which case you can either switch workshops or get a full refund.

Is there a Bursary Fund or any Scholarships that are available? Yes, we do have a small Bursary Fund which some of our participants generously donate to. Several participants every year also receive funding through their local bluegrass or old-time music associations, or as well through local arts councils. Applications are ongoing, and the link is here.
