Advance Banjo
In this class Chris will help students chase melodies up the neck through using a variety of double-stops and moving through chord shapes. Improving the efficiency of the right hand is also a major focus in this advanced “fine tuning” banjo class. Chris teaches what he has used through his career as a supportive member of fine bluegrass bands, including tasty back-up, crunchy kick offs, and affective rhythm/percussion.

Chris Stevens
Chris Stevens is a sought-after session musician and a seasoned, award-winning entertainer. Chris has earned honours such as the 1998 BCCMA Album of the Year and five nominations for BCCMA Instrumentalist of the Year. Chris is renowned in the Canadian Encyclopedia of Music for his instrumental prowess on the 5-string banjo.
He has recorded with such greats as K.D. Lang and has even supported such bluegrass legends as Kenny Baker and Josh Graves.
His dynamic high energy show brings the listener back to simpler times with a style that is steeped in tradition. Fuelled by an infectious sense of humour and obvious love for the music he plays, Chris draws the entire audience into his world of music and laughter.
