Advanced Banjo
In this advanced bluegrass banjo class we will look at tools for taking your playing and performance to the next level. Topics will include: visualizing and mapping the neck for both arranging and improvising; lick development; how to create and refine your own musical ideas, technique and tone improvement; strategies for dealing with performance anxiety; and effective practice habits. It will be question driven, meaning that we can discuss topics of interest to the students. It will also be hands on, meaning that we will do lots of playing through the material presented and playing songs as a way to practice the material (and just for fun). Stories, anecdotes, and laughing are also highly probable.
